Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 February 2026 – Effective date: 1 April 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Jazital (“Jazital”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you use our websites and services, including jazital.com, store.jazital.com, checkout.jazital.com, my.jazital.com and any other Jazital subdomain (together, the “Sites”), and when you buy or use our software products and agency services.
Jazital is a digital agency and software company. We provide web development, design, mobile application development, e-commerce and hosting services to clients, and we develop and sell our own software products — including WordPress plugins, themes and applications — through our online store.
By using the Sites or our services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Sites.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Jazital is the data controller for personal information collected through the Sites. You can reach us about anything in this Policy at:
- Email: hello@jazital.com
- Phone: +234 916 957 6000
- Website: https://jazital.com
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and enquiry details — your name, email address, phone number and the content of messages you send through our contact forms, by email or on WhatsApp.
- Order and billing details — your name, email address and billing country when you buy a product, subscribe to a plan or request a quote. We use these to create your order, issue your licence and send your receipt.
- Account and portal details — the email address you use to sign in to the customer portal (my.jazital.com). Sign-in uses one-time email links; we do not store portal passwords.
- Support communications — anything you share with us when you ask for help, including screenshots and site details you choose to send.
Information collected automatically
- Licensing and activation data — when a product of ours is activated, we record the licence key used, the activation date, and an identifier for the site or device it is activated on (such as a website URL or a device name), together with the product version. This is how licences, seat limits and updates work.
- Update checks — our products periodically contact our licensing service to check for updates and confirm the licence is valid. These requests carry the licence key, product version and the site or device identifier.
- Technical data — standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) collected when you visit the Sites, used for security and to keep the Sites working.
- Cookies — see section 9.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not receive or store your full card number, bank details or other payment credentials. Payments are handled entirely by the payment providers listed in section 4.
3. How we use your information
- To provide what you bought — creating your order, issuing and managing licence keys, delivering downloads and updates, and running your customer portal.
- To send transactional messages — receipts and invoices, licence keys, sign-in links, renewal and expiry notices, and notices about failed payments. These are part of the service and are sent to every customer.
- To respond to you — answering enquiries, quotes and support requests.
- To keep the Sites and our customers safe — preventing fraud, abuse of licences, and attacks on our infrastructure.
- To meet legal obligations — keeping the accounting and tax records the law requires.
- To improve our products and services — using aggregate, non-identifying information about how products are activated and used.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 or, for customers in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR / UK GDPR), we rely on: performance of a contract (fulfilling your order and licence), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving our products), legal obligation (tax and accounting records), and consent where we ask for it (for example, marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time).
4. Payments and payment providers
We use independent payment providers to process payments. When you pay, your payment details go directly to the provider — not to us. We receive confirmation that the payment succeeded, the amount, the currency, and the billing details needed for your receipt.
Depending on your location and the product, your payment may be processed by one of the following, each of which handles your data under its own privacy policy:
- Stripe — see stripe.com/privacy.
- PayPal — see paypal.com/privacy.
- Paystack — see paystack.com/privacy.
- Flutterwave — see flutterwave.com/privacy-policy.
For some purchases, an authorised payment partner may act as the merchant of record — the seller of record for that transaction — in which case it processes your payment and handles applicable sales tax or VAT under its own terms and privacy policy, both shown at checkout.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:
- The payment providers above, to process your payment.
- Service providers who host our infrastructure and deliver our email (for example hosting providers and transactional email services), under agreements that limit what they may do with it.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it or where necessary to establish or defend legal claims.
- A buyer or successor, if Jazital or a product line is sold or merged — in which case this Policy continues to apply to the transferred data.
6. International transfers
Since we operate internationally, we use service providers that may store or process data in other countries, including the European Union and the United States. Where data leaves its country of origin we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to the standard described in this Policy.
7. How long we keep information
- Order, invoice and payment records — for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Licence and activation records — for the life of the licence and a reasonable period afterwards, so lapsed licences can be restored and disputes resolved.
- Support correspondence — for as long as useful to help you, then deleted or anonymised.
- Server logs — for a short rolling window used for security.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where it applies, the GDPR / UK GDPR), you may:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Complain to your data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@jazital.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and, at most, within any period the law prescribes. Note that deleting licensing records may end our ability to honour the associated licence.
9. Cookies
The Sites use cookies and similar technologies for essential purposes: keeping you signed in to the customer portal, remembering a checkout in progress, and protecting forms against abuse. Where we use analytics, the data is aggregated and not used to identify you. You can control cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Sites (such as checkout and the portal) from working.
10. Security
We protect personal information with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk: encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the Sites, access controls on our systems, signed and verified payment notifications, and secrets kept out of client-side code. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
11. Children
The Sites and our products are for business and professional use and are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be announced on the Sites or by email. Continuing to use the Sites after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Policy.
13. Contact
